Letter from the Site Leader — Wayne Turner

Last year was a great year for Houston Operations. We continued toward our goal to keep Environmental, Health and Safety our highest priority. The La Porte site was honored by the Environmental Protection Agency, as the 1000th Facility in the United States to achieve the EPA's environmental indicators. This award places Dow among a stellar list of American corporations who have made a commitment to cleaner air, water and land. In addition to this honor the La Porte site received the Caring for Texas Award from the Texas Chemical Council. These achievements demonstrate our dedication to being good environmental stewards.

Our site also once again showed strong support to the community. Employees gave generously of time and talents for a successful United Way campaign surpassing a goal of $25,000 to raise over $30,000. Our employees continue to dedicate time to the community as volunteers in local schools and charitable organizations. For the first time last year we were honored to support The Battleship Texas overnight program. Our sponsorship will allow for many students to spend a unique weekend aboard this historical Texas treasure.

We invite you to review this Public Report and see our accomplishments and challenges. We hope you will see our progress and the work we do be good neighbors in our community.
